### EQUATION - VISUAL REPRESENTATION

The following questions show the visual representation of equation.
.1 understand the concept of 'balance'
.2 identify the numerical value or representation of the unknowns in the questions.
.3 how is this related to the concept of 'equation'?
.4 post you answers as comment

1. 1. 2
2. 3
3. 2
4. 2

2. 1. 2
2. 3
3. 2
4. 2

3. 1. 2 O's
2. 3 O's
3. 2 O's
4. 2

4. 1) 2
2) 3
3) 2
4) 2

5. 1. The concept of balance here means two or more things are of equal value or are the same.
2.
1) 3 Os
2) 3 Os
3) 2 Os
4) 2
3. This is related to equation as balancing requires 2 or more variables, and by the term balance, those variables are of equal value. And to find these values, equations have to be made.

6. Balance: where two sides of the balance, in this case, are equal and of the same 'weight'

1) 2

2) 3

3) 2

4) 2

The two sides of the balance has to be of equal 'weight', thus making one side of the balance equivalent to the other side of the balance, even though the variables are of different values. It is the same in equation; one side of the equation can probably be x which is shown to be equivalent to the other side which may show the value of 3. The two sides of the equation are balanced, thus the answer x=3.

7. 1) Balance means the sum of each side is equals to each other.
2) 1) 2
2) 3
3) 2
4) 2
3) Since a equation is a statement that the values of two mathematical expressions are equal, this is related to the concept of 'equation' as it has a different number of different shapes on each side but it is still balance which also means equal.

8. 1) 2
2) 3
3) 2
4) 2

9. When two sides are balanced, they are the same.
1. 2
2. 3
3. 2
4. 2
balance is the same as equal, and equal is present in an equation
