Median

A median is the number that separates the upper half of a series of numbers with the lower half.

If you want to calculate the median, first arrange the numbers in ascending order:
27,29,34,40,46,54,59,68

Then take the middle number of the list. That number is the median.

If there are two numbers like in the above series of numbers, take the two numbers and divide their sum by 2 :

40+46=86
86÷2=43

Advantages:

Median is known to be better for situations where the numbers do not vary a lot.

Disadvantages:

When the difference between the numbers is big, it is quite hard to find the median.
