Mathematics Definitions by Carissa

1.A prime number is a number that has only two divisors, 1 and the number itself. Eg. 2,3,5

2.A composite number is a number that has a positive divisor other than 1 or the number itself. Eg. 4,6,8
3.Prime factorization is finding the string of numbers that is able to multiple to get the original number. Eg. 18 = 2 x 3 x 3 or 72 = 2 x 2 x 2 x 3 x3
